It’s so great to bring in the New Year with Twisted Athletics.  We are very excited to bring to you the “404 Hometown Tour” – our inaugural Atlanta event.  Please review all of the information below, as it will detail all of the necessary information you need for the event.

If Traveling Northbound on I-75 (or coming from Atlanta Airport):

If traveling north on I-75 take Exit 258/Cumberland Boulevard. Go west on Cumberland Boulevard to the fourth traffic light at Cobb Parkway/US 41. Turn right on Cobb Parkway and go 7/10ths of a mile (5 traffic lights) to Galleria Drive. Turn right onto Galleria Drive. The Cobb Galleria Centre’s main (rotunda) entrance is located immediately on the right. An additional parking facility is located directly across Galleria Drive.

If Traveling Southbound on I-75:

If traveling south on I-75 take Exit 258/Cumberland Boulevard. Go west on Cumberland Boulevard to the fourth traffic light at Cobb Parkway/US 41. Turn right on Cobb Parkway and go 7/10ths of a mile (5 traffic lights) to Galleria Drive. Turn right onto Galleria Drive. The Cobb Galleria Centre’s main (rotunda) entrance is located immediately on the right. An additional parking facility is located directly across Galleria Drive.

Directions from I-285 Eastbound:

if traveling east on I-285 take Exit 19/Cobb Parkway/US 41. At the end of the exit ramp turn right onto Cobb Parkway and move into the left-hand turning lane. At the first traffic light turn left onto Galleria Drive. The Cobb Galleria Centre’s main (rotunda) entrance is located immediately on the right. An additional parking facility is located directly across Galleria Drive.

Directions from I-285 Westbound:

If traveling west on I-285 take Exit 20/Cobb Parkway/US 41. Continue to exit using the lane marked Cobb Parkway. At the traffic light at the end of the exit ramp turn left onto Cobb Parkway and go under I-285. Make a left hand turn at the second traffic light onto Galleria Drive. The Cobb Galleria Centre’s main (rotunda) entrance is located immediately on the right. An additional parking facility is located directly across Galleria Drive.

Parking

There are more than 2,000 complimentary parking spaces on site. Parking can be found at three main parking decks. A two-level and four-level deck can be accessed from the main (rotunda) entrance to Cobb Galleria Centre, while a five-level deck is located directly across Galleria Drive. This parking deck has an underground tunnel on the 2nd level with direct access to the front entrance of Cobb Galleria Centre. Use this tunnel in order to avoid traffic while crossing the street and also to protect yourself from inclement weather.

Concessions will be available in the Exhibition Halls during the event.

Spectator fees

The entry fee to the event is $15 per person.  Children under the age of 8 years of age are subject to a $10 attendance fee.  All children under the age of 3 will be admitted for FREE.

All Twisted Athletics events are CASH only. 

PLEASE relay this to parents, friends and family of the athletes.  There are ATM machines located throughout the food court and conveniently located throughout the concourse. 

REGISTRATION OF TEAMS

Coaches can pick up passes and participant gifts at the registration desk.  Please send one representative to the information desk to check your teams in.  At this time, a team representative will sign off for participant gifts, coach’s passes and coach’s gifts. 

At registration, all gifts will be distributed to the program representative.  It is the responsibility of the program representative to distribute the gifts to the athletes. 

Each coach will receive a coach’s credential.  Individuals wearing these credentials will have access to the warm room (Exhibition Hall B), DJ/Music Riser and backstage. 

Competition fees are due at the time of registration, a payment in form of the cashier’s check will only be accepted.  Credit Card payment must be transacted 2 weeks prior to event and can be done so by reaching Lori Lee Mendieta at 1-888-77-TWIST.

WARM UP

Teams will be warming up 45 minutes prior to their scheduled competition time.  Please check into the warm-up area (Exhibition Hall B) 5 minutes prior to your start time. 

Warm consists of a 5 minute increments of the following areas:

Stretching Area            Open Floor                 5 minutes

Stunt Mat                     One 6’ x 42’ strip         5 minutes

Tumbling Mat              One 6’ x 42’ strip        5 minutes

Floor                            7 Panel Hard Floor       5 minutes

Water Station              Water Station               5 minutes

Teams have 20 minutes prior to their performance time after their 5 minutes at water station. 

Please note that the nearest restroom will be at the entrance of the Exhibition Hall B. 

MUSIC

At this time, coaches are responsible for making their way to the Music Riser located to the right of the Judge’s Riser. 

Traditional CD and IPOD players will be allowed for this competition.  If using a CD, please be sure to have one music track on each CD.  Two disks are highly recommended per team.  Coaches are responsible for loading and pressing “play” when their teams are ready for their performance. 

In the event that a technical failure, the team will be allowed to perform again.  It is the discretion of the head judge to evaluate the team and determine when the technical music error has been made.  The team will perform “full out” and will be judged from the time the error has occurred. 

AWARDS

Awards ceremony will be held approximately 15 minutes after the final team has performed.  We ask that all athletes be in uniform and come to the performance floor. 

LEVEL CHAMPIONS

Level Champions will be awarded to the team with the highest overall score for each respective level. 

GRAND CHAMPIONS

Grand Champions will be award to the team with the highest overall score the day. 

The teams will be introduced during the awards ceremony.  Level and Grand Champion gifts will be available for pick up at the registration desk in the Galleria Concourse.

SCORESHEETS

Score sheets will be available after the awards ceremony at the registration desk.  A representative may pick up and sign off on all score sheets for the entire program.
